Our journey began not in a bustling metropolis, but in the serene, creative highlands of Bandung, Indonesia. This is our home, and its spirit is our inspiration. SAÉ was founded on a simple premise: to create timeless, essential objects that feel truly, simply, good.

We started with foundational apparel—the pieces we felt were missing from our own lives—but our vision has always been broader. We aim to share a philosophy of mindful living through thoughtful design.

 

Our Philosophy

 

Our design process is guided by three Sundanese principles that serve as our compass. They are the standards we hold ourselves to, ensuring that every object we create is one we are proud of.

  • Basajan (Simplicity): We believe in the power of the essential. Our designs are clean, timeless, and free from unnecessary embellishments, allowing the quality of the material and the integrity of the form to speak for itself.

  • Merenah (The Right Fit): Beyond physical dimensions, 'Merenah' is the feeling of something being perfectly, effortlessly appropriate. It’s the comfortable drape of a t-shirt, the intuitive function of an object, and the harmony it brings to your space and life.

  • Saé (Inherent Goodness): This is our ultimate promise. It is the tangible quality of our sustainable materials, the integrity of our ethical craftsmanship, and the positive feeling that comes from owning something made with genuine care.
